Evelyn Speaks

Evelyn has always been really verbal and it seems that now she chatters almost constantly. We understand about as much of her stream of consciousness as we do Joyce or Faulkner! However there are moments of lucid hilarity. Here are a few:

One night when singing "Amazing Grace" before bed, Evelyn sings with gusto "....that saved a wretch like YOU!!!!" and points straight at Kathryn (then 2 months old).

We recently visited Paul's Aunt and Uncle in Atlanta. They have three dogs that Evelyn loves! Evelyn was sitting on the potty when one of the dogs wandered up to the bathroom door. She informed him politely, "Sparky, I need some privacy."

On a recent visit to the park on a blustery day, she faced into the wind and demanded at the top of her voice, "STOP WIND-ING!"

Evelyn spent the first inning of her first baseball game asking when she would get to play baseball. She didn't realize that going to a baseball game meant watching others play.
